Our waiting list works on a first come first served basis regardless of what position you are on it. When a place becomes available for your child’s specific stage/level, you will be contacted (along with the swimmers on the list) and allocated to the first person who gets back to us.

Special Requirements (Medical Conditions, Learning Difficulties or SEN Diagnosis/assessments taking place)

Every child has access to the same opportunities, although some children may have specific medical, physical or behavioural requirements that need to be taken into account prior to participating in activities. The needs of each child vary, so decisions on how best to include children into our programme, are made on a case-by-case basis. We request that parents of children with specific needs contact us to discuss how we can best accommodate their child, and consider whether any special arrangements need to be made. We may need to assess an individual’s need and find the most appropriate means of participation. Please note we cannot provide for children requiring personal care, including toileting.

Outdoor shoes must be removed before entering the changing rooms, or the blue overshoe covers are worn before you enter the changing. This just ensures that the transfer of mud etc from outside is restricted and keeps the changing room floor clean for swimmers and their families. Once removed, shoes can either be left outside in the reception area or taken into the changing rooms with you. Blue shoe covers are available if you would prefer to keep your shoes on. Please just pop these on before entering the changing rooms. If possible, please leave these in the bin provided after use so that they can be recycled.

Using the toilets to change in

Please ensure that swimmers are not using the toilet cubicle as a changing room. There is only one toilet in each changing room so it is really important that these are kept clear for those who need to use the toilet, rather than to change in, even at quiet times. Should any swimmers feel uncomfortable changing in the rooms provided, we recommend using a large changing towel / poncho. Or they can also use something like a dry robe or onesie and then changing at home.

What are the changing room procedures?

In the interest of safety and comfort of all our swimmers and in accordance with the Swim England safeguarding policy, we ask that all adults only access their gender appropriate changing room. Children of 8 years of age and above are also required to change in the gender correct changing room To summarize: I.E Dads – please only ever access/use the male changing rooms, irrespective of the gender of your child. Mums – please only ever access/use the female changing rooms, irrespective of the gender of your child. If your child is over 8 and of the opposite gender, they are asked to change on their own. We kindly ask that any parents/guardians whose child is using the changing room without them present, be asked to use them responsibly and remind them that bullying / antisocial behaviour will not be tolerated. The changing area and showers are not to be used as a play area and any other users of the facility MUST be treated with kindness and respect.

Can we take photos or videos?

Unfortutnately, the taking of photos and video recordings are not permitted under any circumstances while the swimming lessons are in progress due to child protection guidelines. Importantly, this includes the use of phones in the changing rooms, or hallways, and includes any use of the photo or video function (even if you are taking pictures or video of yourself). Parents / Guardians of any children (swimming or not swimming) who have their own mobiles or smart devices will need to make sure they are not using them to take photos/videos while around the poolside/changing room areas.

Illness, Swimming with health Conditions and When not to Swim

At our swim school, the health and safety of every child is our top priority. We understand that some children may have specific health conditions that require additional care or considerations when participating in swimming lessons. Whether your child has asthma, epilepsy, eczema, diabetes, or another medical condition, swimming can often be a beneficial and enjoyable activity — with the right precautions in place. We strongly encourage parents to consult with their child’s healthcare provider before beginning swimming lessons, especially if the child has a chronic or complex medical condition.pl General Guidelines Before enrolling your child in swimming lessons, please inform us of any medical conditions they may have. This allows our instructors and staff to make any necessary accommodations to ensure a safe and supportive environment. General Illness Swimmers should not swim if they have an open wound, any infectious disease, cough, cold, ear infection, head lice or stomach upset. Swimmers should not enter the water for 14 days following unexplained diarrhoea.. Common Health Conditions and Considerations Asthma Swimming is often recommended for children with asthma, as the warm, humid air around pools can be easier on the lungs than dry air. However, it’s important your child brings their reliever inhaler to every lesson, and that instructors are made aware of their condition and action plan. Eczema and Skin Sensitivities Chlorinated water can sometimes irritate sensitive skin. Applying a barrier cream before swimming and rinsing thoroughly after can help minimize irritation. Let us know if your child has any special skincare needs. Epilepsy Children with epilepsy can usually swim safely under close supervision. We may request a medical clearance, and additional support or one-on-one instruction might be recommended depending on the severity and type of seizures. Diabetes Swimming is a great form of exercise for children with diabetes. However, it’s important to monitor blood sugar levels before and after lessons. Please inform our staff about any signs to look out for and what to do in case of a low blood sugar episode. Ear Infections or Tubes If your child is prone to ear infections or has ear tubes, they may need to wear ear plugs or a swim cap. Always follow your doctor’s recommendations. When Swimming Should Be Avoided While swimming is generally a safe and healthy activity, there are certain conditions where children should temporarily refrain from participating, to ensure their own wellbeing and prevent the spread of illness to others. Impetigo Impetigo is a highly contagious skin infection caused by Staphylococcus aureus bacteria. It presents as blisters or sores that produce a yellowish discharge, often around the mouth and hands. Children with impetigo should not swim until the infection has fully cleared and treatment is complete. Personal hygiene is critical—towels and clothing should not be shared. Cellulitis This superficial skin infection causes redness, swelling, and discomfort. Swimming should be avoided until cellulitis has resolved completely, as exposure to water can aggravate the condition and increase the risk of bacterial spread. Chickenpox and Other Rash Illnesses (Exanthemata) Children with chickenpox or other contagious rash-causing illnesses (e.g., measles or hand, foot and mouth disease) should stay out of the pool until all symptoms have resolved and any scabs or lesions have fully healed. These conditions are easily spread, especially in group settings like swimming classes. Communication is Key We work closely with families to accommodate each child’s needs. The more we know, the better we can support your child’s swim journey. All medical information is handled confidentially and shared only with staff who need to know to provide safe instruction.

Can I use the school car park?

Yes, you are permitted to use the school car parks at both All Hallows Catholic School & Lord Wandsworth College All Hallows Catholic School The school car park is a shared space used by staff, students, and parents, including those with small children. For everyone’s safety, please drive slowly and cautiously, particularly near the school pool area. Kindly ensure that you park only in designated bays. All large vehicles , including SUVs, must not be parked in the staggered / slanted bays – under any circumstance . These bays are not designed for larger vehicles, and large cars parked here obstruct all other cars and create a safety hazard. Small cars are permitted in the staggered bays , but if you do use these bays, please ensure your car is parked right up to the fence, barrier, bollard, or curb . Vehicles that are not pulled in close enough can cause significant difficulties for other cars trying to pass. Parking in hatched areas is strictly prohibited . Unfortunately, some parents or guardians continue to use these spaces for easy access to the pool rather than parking in designated bays. These areas are reserved for emergency purposes and must remain clear at all times. Individuals who disregard the parking rules will receive a warning, and persistent offenders will no longer be permitted to park in the school car park and will need to make alternative arrangements. Your cooperation is really appreciated and is vital in keeping the car park safe and accessible for all staff, students, and visitors. We appreciate your understanding and support in adhering to these guidelines.

Addresses / Directions to the pool when I arrive at the different swimming venues

Directions to the pool when arriving at All Hallows Catholic School – Weybourne Rd, Farnham, GU9 9HF When approaching the school, please use the entrance located on the far right-hand side of the school building when arriving. Follow the road down into the car park, where you’ll see a set of double doors on your left—that is the entrance to the pool. On the first day of each term, a member of the Edge Swim team will be available poolside to assist you. The female changing room is directly ahead, and the male changing room is to your right. We recommend arriving early for your first session to allow enough time to familiarize yourself with the pool facility. Please note that smoking and vaping are not permitted anywhere on the school grounds. Directions to the pool when arriving at Lord Wandsworth College (Near Crondall) – Long Sutton, Hook, Hampshire, RG29 1TA Please enter the College through the main gate next to the Four Horseshoes pub (RG29 1TA). Be aware that Sat Navs may direct you to other entrances, which may be restricted. As you approach the barrier just beyond the main gate, it will open automatically. Once inside, drive straight up the driveway and follow the road through two bends (first right, then left). The main car park will be directly ahead. From there, you’ll see several main buildings, with the entrance to the pool directly in front of you, marked by Edge Sports and Activities flags on the first day of each course. A member of the Edge Swim team will be there to assist you on the poolside. Pool Building Door Entry/Exit, Acess to chageing Room & Poolside To access the pool building, there is a key card attached to the outside door handle. Use this if no staff member is available to open the door from inside. To exit, press the green button located halfway down the wall by the right-hand door. Once inside, the changing rooms are through the double doors on your left. The female changing room is immediately on your right, and the male changing room is at the end of the corridor on the right, past the sports hall. Please note that entry to and exit from the poolside must be through the changing rooms. We recommend arriving early for your first session to allow enough time to familiarize yourself with the pool facilities. Please note that smoking or vaping is not permitted anywhere on the school grounds. Forest Pool (Private Residence) – Rowledge, Farnham, Surrey Parking: Please park in the small public car park at the end of Church Lane (postcode: GU10 4EN). As space is limited, please park considerately —ensure you do not block other vehicles or access routes. Being respectful of the space helps us maintain good relations with local residents. Directions to the Pool: From the car park, walk through the iron gates of the church. Follow the path around the left side of the church, and continue along the footpath through the churchyard. As you exit the churchyard into the forest, our gate is on the right-hand side. Important Notes for Swimmers: Please remove all footwear at the door – Overshoes are available for non-swimmers or those just watching. Do not flush wet wipes – Please dispose of them in the bin provided. Be respectful of the setting – The pool is located within a private home, and we are very fortunate to have access to it. Please treat the space with care and consideration. Link to website for more information – Forest Pool Ewshot Pool (Private Residence) – Heath Lodge, Farnham Road, GU10 5AG Parking & Pool Access Instructions (We request that you do not use the Waze navigation app when traveling to the Ewshot Pool. We’ve found that Waze frequently directs users to an incorrect road , causing unnecessary detours and confusion. To ensure you arrive efficiently and without issues, please use an alternative navigation service, such as Google Maps) As you turn off the main road, the white bungalow with a statue of a Great Dane at the front will be immediately on your left-hand side . Parking Information Private Lesson Parking: 1 space is available opposite the bungalow on the right-hand side of the road. Group Lesson Parking: 3 spaces are available on the main driveway of the bungalow. This driveway is just past the bungalow on the left-hand side . Please enter the drive and feel free to block each other in, as all group lesson participants will be arriving and leaving at the same time. Important Parking Guidelines: Park closely to other vehicles to maximise space, as it is limited. Ensure access is not blocked for residents . Do not park anywhere other than the designated spaces , as this may disrupt neighbours and block access to other properties. Pool Access After parking, access the pool via the side gate on the left-hand side of the bungalow. Do not walk across the garden to reach the pool — access is strictly through the side gate only.

How do we rebook for the following term?

As an existing member, your swim place(s) will automatically roll over into the new term. For anyone wishing to cancel their place(s) for the next term then you will need to let us know by the specific date that is email out to you. To secure your place for the next term a non-refundable deposit of £30.00 per child is required, or, full payment can be made straightway for the swim course. Your deposit payments are due by a specific date emailed out, and if not received by this date, then your places will be automatically cancelled and reallocated. Bookings will still be taken after this date, but please be aware that we might not be able to offer your first choice of time/day, or you may lose your place completely. Once you have confirmed that you wish to continue we will email a booking confirmation/payment invoice of the place offered.
